I learned that it’s very important how you carry yourself. You have to be your own manager to make people respect you as a businesswoman. People tend to think models are all beauty and no brains. They’ll try to get over on you. It’s sad to say, but it happens. They look at you as just a money-making object. It’s very important to use your head and don’t do anything you don’t feel comfortable with. God gave us all intuition, so all women in the modeling game should follow their instincts.

This classic King issue with Meagan Good was before my time, but it was one I have been wanting to add to my collection for awhile. I finally found a copy on E-bay, but the copy was not in good shape; it’s been sitting back there in my stack just mocking me. I finally muscled down and did it, but man it was a bit of an ‘archivist’ work.

Rewind to 2003. Imagine if Meagan Good had exploded like Angeline Jolie or Beyonce. Think of all of those magazine covers and features that I could have stacked in the last seven years. It’s just wrong.

We got a month of heat before Summer cools off into Fall. Counting up the hits for the Top Vixens of Summer of 2010 definitely had some surprises. Tell me what you think.

Mileena Hayes is cool but I didn’t expect to see her take number 1 but she did it by a mile. Sayeeda definitely had a strong reaction so I knew she would rank. It was good to see Vicky Von J hitting it even with only a few weeks on the calendar.

Allain Victoria is pure Big Easy Sex. Allain talks about growing up in New Orleans…

Life was great as a kid. I remember going to Mardi Gras parades with my mom and my brother. We would sleep outside the night before the parade so we would have a good spot to see the floats the next day. I remember going to all the different festivals, like jazzfests and stuff. My mom always made sure we were out experiencing things.

Allain talks about an awkward phase…

If I did go through an awkward stage, I would say it started when I was seven years old and lasted until I was about 12. I remember wearing these big pink eye-glasses and my mom would put my hair up in pigtails. I look back at pictures of that time and I can’t help but laugh. When I was 13, I started doing my own hair. My glasses broke while I was playing volleyball one day, so I stopped wearing them. To this day, I’m sure I need glasses but I’ll never wear them.

Gotta say to Smooth, don’t, don’t ever put a dude in the frame. I don’t care who it is, how talented, smart or cool the dude is, I don’t want to see him in the picture. A chick in a feature about some fool is cool, but no dudes in a chick feature is the rule. This is so basic, so close to the bone that I don’t see why I should have to point it out.

New Orleans honeys keep catching my eye. Angel Davis is diffidently something special and jumped off the page the first time I saw her in BlackMen. They should definitely feature her again because she is firing on all fronts.

Angel is starting to bust out but you have seen her as video vixen in Common’s “Universal Mind Control”, Lil Wayne and Birdman “Pop Bottles”, Common featuring Pharrell “Announcement”, TI “You Can Have Whatever You Want” and The Dream “Love King.”

Angel talks about accomplishments.

I just graduated from nursing school. That was a really big accomplishment for me. I also have a B.S. in psychology and a B.S. in biology. The sky is the limit for me, and what better place for an Angel to fly.

I would love to wear PINK sweat pants, Gucci flip flops, tank top and a hat everyday. But in reality its a pair of jeans, cute top and a fabulous pair of hills.

My personality. Most haven’t met anyone like me and probably never will.

How was your SHOW shoot experience?
It was a great experience. I met Amazin Amie there and she helped me feel so comfortable, considering that it was my first magazine shoot. The whole set was just full of energy, there were plenty of sexy shoots going on. I had a lot of fun.

 

What music video did you see recently made you shout?
“There Goes My Baby” Usher. I loved the scene when he jumps to the roof and does a pull up to kiss the girl. I really got excited by that. lol

What would be your dream project?
To have my own reality show. I think my friends and I live very amusing lives. Entourage style lol.

Diamond The Show Stopper jumped off the page as I thumbed through my copy of SHOW 19. Then I read she is from Lafayette, Louisiana and realized, man, you just can’t escape that Louisiana goodness lately.

Jennifer Skye doesn’t set any limits for herself. In her first magazine feature she goes straight to the cover of Smooth Girl.

Jennifer takes a few moments to share some words with us.

I love music so I have a lot of genres in my iPod from Hip Hop to Salsa but I’m an R & B type of girl.

 

I read that you’re going to school for fashion. Which designers do you admire the most?
I love Valentino Garavani, he makes every woman who walks down a red carpet look like a goddess. I also love Betsey Johnson, I think she is brilliant but when it comes to bags I am a Gucci, Louis Vuitton girl.

It depends on my mood. I work in the night life and listen to music all the time so I enjoy quiet time at home with my dog or going out to dinner with the girls and an occasional movie once in a while. If I’m in the mood to party, on my days off I like going to Spanish clubs. At my job they play mainly hip hop so sometimes a girls needs to listen to some salsa and bachata.

I’m a big J-Lo fan and love her movies so I can see myself in those types of roles. The pretty underdog that makes it out on top, whether it be from an abusive relationship like in “Enough” or being a maid and meeting a handsome well off guy like in “Maid in Manhattan”

Definitely ambitious, determined and dependable.

 

Favorite ice cream flavor?
Not a big fan of ice cream but if I had to choose one it would have to be Strawberry.

Yes I do work out. My work outs consist of a lot of cardio. Even when I use some weights the work out is cardio based where I circuit train. I go from exercise to exercise with minimal rest to keep my heart rate up so I can tone and burn calories at the same time.

At first I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect but after meeting the crew they made me feel very comfortable and the beauty of Jamaica helped me feel more relaxed as well.

Seeing other people happy really does it for me. I love being out with my friends and seeing that everyone is having a good time and an occasional shopping spree does it for me as well.
